Dudhsagar waterfalls

Hello all,

Last month i visited Dudhsagar waterfalls with GHAC club members along with 6 of my friends. Had an awesome time is something very less to state about our experience. We started by train on friday evening @ Kachiguda. Reached Castlerock station by 2:30 pm next day(train was late). We had now 14 kms of rail trek before us in the cool climate of western ghats. Climate was just like early morning @afternoon. Greenery on both sides of track and valleys in between. Smaller waterfalls were giving us taste bites about the destination and soothing our thirst. Tunnels gave us a chance to enjoy the walk in darkness with a torch and to make all the silly noises. Huge mountains made us see how small we are.... Steep valleys showed us we are on top..
Every passing kilometer sent the excitement of nearing the awaited sight of waterfalls(also little bit of leg pains)... And i just went to trip with a wrong shoe and it almost spoiled my trip but by luck i got floaters of a friend and could just enjoy the remaining trek... Loads of luggage was also another smaller problem we had which slowed us. If you are planning to go, i recommend- less luggage more comfort. And food should be something spicy, because cool climates makes you want them more rather than biscuits.
Our guide was just the best motivator who made us think we had 3 more kms to walk when it was almost becoming dark. We were a bit worried, but when we reached the destination in just 2 kms ( he just lied to us knowingly), i was very happy that we had to walk a km less :D :D :D.

On seeing the board of dudhsagar station, all the energy came back and all senses were ready to experience the feel of waterfalls. It was almost dark (6:30pm) when we reached and from 200 m before waterfalls, we started hearing its music(songs), it just gave us a kick from inside to reach more quickly. OMG, its the only thing i can tell when i reached the place. I was actually waiting to watch what made us walk for 14 kms(we are not regular fitness guys ;) ) and here we are before it, standing on the rail track bridge and watching it. That moment, it was a dream come true. A perfect feeling where we can see the result of everything till that moment. I just sat down on the rail track and filled all my senses with it. Felt the sight of the huge waterfalls, heard the music it is playing for us, tasted the smell of water droplets wetting us, felt the cool water on our body. That was it, it was worth of everything and remember it's more worth when we do something to achieve it rather than directly flying to it. Efforts = Excitement (on achievement).

Later we all moved into our little cute tents just beside the waterfall and railway track. We were just a few feet from track and heard 3/4 trains passing so near to us during the night stay. For dinner, it was whole India come together from sambar rice to roti chutney to biryani, to bread and jam with some hot pulav in between and many good pickles. Lots of varieties brought by 24 people belonging to different parts of India. We also had great snacks during our train journey...

Night was just complete night with just darkness, except the torch in our tents. As it was cloudy, we couldn't see a single star and no other light was present. Only waterfall was visible in a dull white color but we culd feel its cool water now and then and its soothing music. On all sides, our eyes could just see the darkness, perfect darkness and silence was a great companion when we were not talking.
After a sound sleep, morning brought the brightness and noise(from all others who started having fun). With a little fresh up, we were ready to go near the bridge to have a good view of falls. When i stood on the side wall of the bridge, it was something to be experienced. Huge waterfall falling from a very good height above with a huge width covering whole of the view of my eyes, with its drizzle wetting me. When i saw down, the huge pool was white and blue with a fresh look to it and ferocious strength of the flow filed me with a little excitement. It was all greenery on all remaining parts of frame and a fog covering it like a blanket. Those few minutes, with my whole body turned towards the fall and my hands stretched, i felt the waterfall with every inch of my body, mind and soul. It's something cant be explained, but awesome...

Later we walked back to the small station of dudhsagar, boarded a train back to Londa Junction. Had our breakfast over there and spend some time shopping in that small and cool town of karnataka. Boarded our train at afternoon and reached Hyderabad by next day morning. had loads of fun during the journey- antakshari, dumbshuds, questionnaire, experiences sharing, lots of food and talk. It was end of the journey, but definitely beginning of experiences like them...

Even this moment, by closing my eyes, i can feel the moment i spent near the waterfall... Memories in heart always brings whole experience back to us...

Know thyself...

Life gives us many twists and turns. But we have to see what we really get. A passing cloud may be seen as a horse by one person, a rabbit by other's or a bird by other, its not the mistake of cloud, but its imagination of a person and his mood. But, by thinking that others see what we also see, may people create different expectations without expressions. If we cannot express our-self completely to someone, how can we expect them to react accordingly?

Believe in a higher force which is driving us. It may be god or any other thing, definitely higher than us, which knows things beyond our capability. Trusting that force gives us strength, gives us a healthy fear. It turns us towards positive field and gives us success and failures too. But, then, we can feel that those failures have some other meaning in them to get ourselves realize something.
